Emma and Lucy Longmire have been involved with horses since they were 15 years old. They have a passion for the thoroughbred and a wealth of experience between them. They have both been afforded professional experience within large training organisations such as the Guy Walter, Gai Waterhouse and Danny Williams and have developed their own style off the back of some of the best education in the industry.
The Longmire's believe it is a privilege to be a part of such a vibrant and rewarding industry and are lucky to work with their only real passion in life, the thoroughbred. Twinstar Racing has hit the ground running by landing a city winner with Wild Flower in just the first week of operation. This is an indication of not only the Longmire's training ability but their desire and ability to match it with the big city based trainers.
Goulburn is a fantastic environment to train horses as it has the relaxed country feel that the horses love but its central location means there are plenty of options at both the provincial and metropolitan level. Sydney is just 3 hours away up the Hume Highway and nearby Canberra is just 1.5 hours with the option of both turf and synthetic tracks. A trip over the border to Victoria also remains within reach from their Goulburn base. The Longmire's are big supporters of Racing NSW's highway races and will be targeting the lucrative series whenever possible.
Training on the track at Goulburn racecourse the Longmire's have access to some great facilities including course proper gallops, the inside training grass and the sand track which is used by the team on a regular basis. There is also a back track, a hill track for further fitness work, sand rolls, a walker and they have 20 covered boxes which is currently being expanded to 28.
Emma and Lucy love a challenge and are extremely enthusiastic about their new venture. There has never been a better time to jump on board with them and ride the wave of success that has just started but is showing no signs of stopping.
